This policy explains how QR Code Reader Extra handles information. The app is provided by TKITAUJI and supported through @tkitauji on X.
The local-storage and analytics descriptions below apply to version 2.6.2 and later. Until that update is available and installed, older versions may continue to use Firebase Analytics as described under “Older versions.” Advertising services remain in the updated app.
Camera frames and photos you select for scanning are processed on your device to recognize codes. The app does not upload those images or the contents of scanned or created codes to a developer-operated server, or include code contents in advertising requests.
Scan history, dates, code types, and favorites are stored in the app’s private storage on your device. Version 2.6.2 uses iOS complete file protection for history and migrates history from the older storage format. Preferences are stored separately on your device. Device backups may include app data, depending on your Apple backup settings. The app does not provide its own cloud synchronization service.
You can delete history within the app. Deleting the app removes its local data; copies in device backups or data you previously shared are managed separately by their respective services.
When you copy a result, it is placed on the system clipboard. When you share a result or code image, open a link, make a call, or save contact information, the selected information is passed to the app or system service you choose. Their privacy practices apply. Avoid sharing codes that contain passwords or other sensitive information.
The app uses Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) to display advertising and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage applicable advertising privacy choices.
These services may process IP addresses and approximate location inferred from them, device or app identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, app interaction information, crash information, performance information, and other diagnostics. They use this information for advertising, measurement, service operation, and improvement. Google and its advertising partners may receive information needed to provide these services. Collection and advertising behavior depend on your region, consent choices, device permissions, and service settings. Removing Firebase Analytics does not remove the advertising services’ own measurement.
Where required, a consent message lets you accept, reject, or manage advertising choices. When available for your region, advertising privacy options appear in the app’s Settings so you can revisit your choices. Refusing personalized advertising does not necessarily stop all advertising or all processing needed to deliver ads. The app does not request access to your precise device location.
See Google’s Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from apps that use its services, and Google Mobile Ads data disclosures for more information about Google’s processing and controls.
Versions before 2.6.2 include Firebase Analytics for app usage measurement, including usage events and automatically collected app, device, and approximate-location information. Version 2.6.2 removes Firebase Analytics initialization and event reporting. Updating does not itself delete information already held by Google. See Google Analytics data collection and Google’s Privacy Policy.
Local history stays on your device until you delete it or remove the app, subject to your backup settings. iOS file protection helps protect stored history but does not prevent someone using your unlocked device from viewing it. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Information processed by advertising providers is subject to their retention policies and available privacy controls.
The app is a general-purpose utility and is not specifically directed to children. It does not ask users to create an account or provide their name or age. If you believe a child has supplied personal information through a service used by the app, contact us so we can review the concern and direct you to the relevant provider where appropriate.
For privacy questions or support, contact @tkitauji on X. Do not post scan contents or other sensitive information publicly. The developer cannot retrieve history stored only on your device.
